Rider of the week: Breakfast meeting

Laura Hapenciuc was waiting outside B-Line cafe waiting for her sister Claudia who built Laura’s bike. According to Claudia it was the first bike she built. It came from Berkeley, but all Claudia kept was the frame, fork and cranks. The rest required new parts. Look for Claudia’s bike, which she also built, next week.

UA extends free trial period for bike valet

The University of Arizona Parking and Transportation Services department has extended the bike valet’s trial period. The bike valet will remain free to try until October 15. According to one of the students workers, the most bikes they have valeted in one day was 42.

UA lighting up campus for cyclists

In an effort to increase safety for cyclists on the University of Arizona campus, officials are installing flashing LED reflectors in areas that are particularly dangerous at night. The reflectors have been placed so they light up the poles that separate bike paths from streets and can become a hazard for cyclists in the dark. […]
