Ghost bikes in Tucson

Theres one on spanish trail past the rincon market. An off duty police officer was struck. I was riding the day the accident happened and was asked by police to turn around and go back to vail. You know it's serious when they close all lanes in and out.

Charlie can you describe this bike? Someone found a totally destroyed ghost bike in an alley and brought it into BICAS a few weeks ago to let us know it had gone missing, but nobody had ever seen it before. We could not identify it in order to replace it. It was small, painted all white, not set in concrete, and I believe was a girl's bike. It had no placard. We would like to replace this bike but we don't know where it belongs or whose it is.Erik Ryberg

I was shocked to find a ghost bike on Ft Lowell, about 1/2 mile east of Soldier's Trail. Deep in the residential backwaters. The last two times past, it has been absent. I have no idea whether this has ever been registered on any of these sites.Charlie

I do have a lot of this information, or access to it, but I usually need at least a name. Sometimes a location is good enough. I would have archived it on www.tucsonbikelawyer.com but I don't know how to use the software . . . . Erik Ryberg

I can help ID ghost bikes in NE Tucson if needed - there's one at Udall, there should be one on Harrison near Cat Hwy, Brad Gorman's comes and goes on Cat Hwy, and I believe Alan Johnson's is placed on Old Spanish Trail near Camino Loma Alta.

Locating info will certainly be the hard part. Archives get lost and information becomes sketchy. Which locations have you photographed?

I've been doing this for awhile ... well, the photographing part ... on the northeast side of Tucson. However, I cannot find any information on the cyclists or why the bikes were placed there. There are no plaques either ... just the ghost bikes chained to signs.
