This weekend bicycles and fashion are being combined for a free bike-in screening of the documentary “Bill Cunningham: New York.”
For decades, Cunningham has been documenting fashion trends and high society charity soirées by bicycle for the New York Times Style section in his columns “On the Street” and “Evening Hours.”
The screening is being organized by Living Streets Alliance and Downtown Tucson Partnership, with support from Ordinary Bike Shop and the Pima County Clean Air Program.
The screening will take place at the Jackson Street parking lot, one block south of Broadway Boulevard, between Scott and Stone Avenues.
In addition to the screening there will be a bike ride from the University of Arizona flagpole at 6:30 p.m. and prizes given to the best dressed male and female cyclists.
The screening starts at 7:30 p.m. Cyclopsicle Bicycle Powered Gourmet Popsicles will be there.
If you are into fashion, check out my new blog, TucsoninStyle.com. It is still a work in progress, but it should be up and running soon.
