For my commute home today, I took an alternate route that was really out of my way and it was so worth it.  For a while I've been wanting to check out the Santa Cruz River path, so I took advantage of the cool temps and overcast skies.  This was also my first weekday going down Congress, but I digress.  What a great and relaxing ride.  The highlight was a hawk sitting on the railing.  That's one big bird.  He watched me intently and I'm not sure if I was a threat or a potential snack, but it was still great to be within 10 feet of that dude.  I really need to get one of those small video cameras for my bike for just instances.

Very cool! The recently repaved the Santa Cruz, so it is pretty nice. I've seen a hawk out there too. Maybe it was the same one. It can be so much fun exploring new parts of town.

Thanks for sharing.
