First came the electronic powered derailleur system, now it's sensors, servo's and a microcomputer stuffed into your suspension.
The latest issue of Design News (

I used to work on automobiles. Mechanical problems were great. It's easy to see where something has gone wrong. Not the case with electrical systems. One of the great things about bicycles is that they're simple. I see no reason to overly complicate such a magnificent form of conveyance. I suppose some folks just can't get enough gadgets and that is why electronically controlled bicycle components pop up from time to time.

If electronic "enhancements" become commonplace in racing, I suppose it won't be too long before somebody figures out that these are available.
