This insanely tall bike raised the top tube

Tucson is home to one of the longest cargo bikes in the world, but Los Angeles can claim the tallest.

I posted this video in a Link Roundup a few weeks ago, but it made its way back around to my inbox and I thought it was worth highlighting. Check out the video above.

I’m constantly amazed by the ingenuity of bicycle builders.

In our own Cyclovia on last week, there were some great examples of awesome bikes.

There was Keener and his fainting couch bike, which is the longest bike I’ve ever seen.

A quad bike, the cow bike and even an ET bike.

This cow bike was one of many unique bikes at the first 2013 Cyclovia Tucson. A second event with a new route will take place on April 28.

Part of the fun of these events is seeing what people can come up with. What’s the coolest bike you’ve seen in Tucson?

Find a way to ad a couple of large wire baskets, front and back and that rider Bob's quad would make for one fantastic and stable  SUV (Smart Utility Vehicle). Talk about a "grocery-getter", or a "multiple pet-carrier", or -with just a little more tweaking- a good ol' cross country "touring ride"!   =)

ALL these bikes are wonderful! They show just how versatile and fun getting around by pedal-power can be.

The rider, Bob, made the quad himself.  It is purpose built to be a golf cart.  He spoke w/ the golf course people before he started the build, and they said they'd allow him to ride it on their courses and only charge him the walker's price.  The golf bag attaches to the bracket on the front.
